Hey y'all today I'm talking about Fashion pros and cons!
If you really knew me, you'd know that I'm not a brand-whore and that it would take about 6 years of convincing me to buy a sweater for $475. I just don't find the need to be so materialistic.
I own designer pieces but they are usually vintage piece that I can create endless numbers of outfits with.
I don't understand why someone would want to buy a pair of track pants from Dolce & Gabbana when you can get the same quality at Adidas. I mean at the end of the day it's still the same damn thing, doing the same job. I have had a couple of cases where I've gotten into heated arguments leading to a fight with my close friends who spends money recklessly on very materialistic things. My motto is "if you're going to waste money, at least waste it on something beneficial to your everyday use"... like for instance a cell phone. If I was to ever spend money on a designer piece It surely won't be from one of the top mainstream brand names.
I'd go for Jil Sander. Look below to experience the fashion line yourself.
These pieces speaks for themselves. So vibrant, different and beautiful. I wouldn't want it because of its name brand but because it fits my style of clothing and personality.
So spending money you don't have just to stand out from the crowd because at the end of the day you will still be a part of a crowd which will be labeled "Materialistic & Spoiled" What we need to learn to understand is that our generation is 30x more materialistic compared to prior generations. It's not about spirituality and self-realization like they had in the '60s anymore. It's much more about having stuff as an expression of who you are as a person.
Life is about finding and creating who you are, not necessarily by what you wear.
Thank you for accepting my honest truth.
Stay beautiful
